How To Avoid Having Your Downloadable Items Ripped Off!

Selling online is not as secure or safe for you as you might think. The obvious things when selling downloadable goods like e-books or software are to use a secure payment processor (like PayPal) and/or a third party fulfillment service (like Clickbank) and to pay attention to your download page by not making the page title too easy to guess.

In addition you should use a META Tag like this: – META NAME = “ROBOTS” CONTENT = “NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW” – to stop the robots listing your page in search results.

I always thought that was enough, until I was ripped off three times just this last week. What I didn’t know was that the line on my ‘Thank You’ page which reads “Thank You For Your Purchase…” would show up in searches on certain search engines (like Alexa) and allow these unscrupulous people to steal my products.

SO BE WARNED!

As an immediate precaution I have changed the wording, but I will have to move to another layer of protection and use an autoresponder to send the items to an approved email address in future.

If anybody has some good ideas I’d like to hear them please!

Online Trading – A Great Online Business

These days, online trading is such a popular activity that anyone can buy and sell stocks and shares online. Traders love having the ability to look at their accounts whenever they want to, and brokers enjoy the ease of taking orders over the Internet, as opposed to simply using the telephone.

Most brokers and brokerage houses are now offering online trading to their clients and another benefit of this trading online is that fees and commissions are often lower. However, while online trading is certainly great, there are some drawbacks, especially if you are inexperienced.

When you are new to investing, having the ability to speak in person with a broker can be quite advantageous. If you aren’t stock market savvy, online trading may be a dangerous thing for you, as you may easily get carried away. If you are not experienced already, make sure that you learn as much as you can about trading stocks before you start trading online.

You should also be aware that you won’t always have the ability to get online to make a trade, so you need to be sure that you can call and speak with a broker if this is the case. This is absolutely true whether you are an advanced trader or a beginner.

Starting out, you should select an online brokerage company that has been around for a while. Obviously you won’t find one that has been in business for fifty years, but you can find a company that has been in business for that length of time and now offers online trading.

Again, although online trading is an attractive activity it isn’t for everyone…

Personalizing Autoresponders

Have you ever walked into a store in your town, and been addressed by name?  This has probably happened to you at stores that you frequent often.  The shop owner knows your name, and uses it. He remembers you, and he wants you to know that he cared enough about you and your business to remember you.  In the offline world, this is just one aspect of customer support.

Customer service like this is almost impossible to achieve on the Internet, but some semblance of it can exist when you personalize your autoresponder messages. Autoresponder messages can be set upto address people by their first or last name – or both. In fact, there is quite a bit of personalized informationthat can be added, depending on the autoresponder that you are using.

The information is included in the autoresponder messages by using codes. Each autoresponder will use different codes to insert the information in your messages. You simply write your message, and put the codes where you want the personalized information to appear.
